Armstrong Crew; 405 Squadron and Black Thursday

New pages have been added on a number of different subjects. Firstly, the Armstrong crew who were shot down in June 1943 over the city of Utrecht, causing a number of civilian casualties. The two pages are linked, the first one being on the Armstrong crew and the second on the aftermath of the shooting-down.

Secondly, pages for 405 Squadron aircrew who fell victim to the fog on Black Thursday have been added, the first concerns the McLennan crew, and the second is the story of the Bessent twins, the very moving story of two Canadian brothers, one of whom was killed on Black Thursday and the other survived. Unusually, they were on the same squadron although on different crews, and by a trick of fate only one of them flew that night.
