The Archive’s Purpose

The Archive preserves the memory of Pathfinder aircrew and of the wider organisational framework – Bomber Command – in which Pathfinder aircrew served.

Our aim is to provide an in-depth illustration of what life – and death – were like for Pathfinder aircrew, their working comrades, their friends, and their families.

Archive Resources

The Archive’s assets are mainly photographs, documents, and wartime publications. Any other physical artifacts that we own, such as medals, are on long-term loan to our partners, the Pathfinder Collection at RAF Wyton, who have an excellent museum at what used to be the main Pathfinder airfield.

We are most grateful for the donation or loan of any relevant material. Our aim is to present the material in interesting, accessible and informative ways, whilst also ensuring its long-term future.

The Archive is an educational and research resource run by highly committed volunteers.  By supporting us, you will help fund the Archive for future generations. Please SUPPORT US in our work.
