Memorial to the Steven Crew, and Remembrance on Texel

The memorial stone to the Steven crew, lost in January 1944 on Texel, the largest of the Dutch Frisian islands, stands in a wood called Fonteinsnol on the exact spot where the aircraft crashed.

There is a very active group of dedicated researchers living on Texel, including Bram van Dijk and Jan Nieuwenhuis who maintains an excellent database on Allied aircraft losses in the Netherlands during the war.
